Objectives of the College

The primary purpose for which the College is established is to provide opportunities for students to undertake accredited tertiary education in Theology and Christian Ministry.


The context in which this purpose is pursued consists in the member schools of the College. The member schools are committed to providing an academic environment –

The generic objectives of the College consist in the provision to its students of personal and professional development as self-directed, critically analytical, lifelong learners by presenting opportunities for –

In furtherance of its primary purpose, and without limiting the generality of the above, the College will specifically:

  1. confer degrees, diplomas and other awards in theology and related disciplines as determined by the Council;
  2. provide opportunities for theological study by distance education in the future;
  3. accept scholarships, trust funds and research grants for the advancement of theology and related disciplines;
  4. facilitate and promote cooperation between the Schools;
  5. establish and provide facilities and resources for the Schools and the College; and
  6. obtain and maintain the accreditation of the Queensland Office of Higher Education and its successor bodies from time to time.

The College will also:

  1. promote research in theology and related disciplines; and
  2. act to further the interests of the College.
