Course Regulations

  1. Entry requirement
    Entry requirement is any one of the following:
    1. The BCT Bachelor of Theology or its equivalent;
    2. An undergraduate degree from another institution approved by the Academic Committee and the BCT Graduate Certificate in Ministry or its equivalent.
  2. Course of study
    The requirements for award of the GDipMin are completion of 80cp drawn from assessment level 4 as set out in the schedule below.
  3. Duration of course
    Unless the Committee of Deans determines otherwise, a candidate must pursue the course over a minimum of two semesters and a maximum of 12 semesters, except where an extension is approved by the Academic Committee.
  4. Must achieve grade of PP
    To obtain credit for a unit, a candidate must achieve a grade of at least PP.
  5. Credit for other study
    Credit transfer will be allowed as follows:
    1. In accordance with the provisions as set out in the College's Credit Transfer Guidelines.
    2. 40cp credit will be allowed for a completed BCT GCertMin on condition that the GCertMin is surrendered prior to conferral of the Diploma.
  6. Credit transfer from Master of Ministry (MMin)
    A candidate who holds the degree of Bachelor of Theology and who has completed all of the coursework in the MMin and no longer intends to undertake the MMin thesis will be granted 60 credit points of the credit so obtained towards the Graduate Diploma in Ministry and then will be required to undertake two further practicums to complete the requirements of the GDipMin.
  7. Surrender of certificate
    A candidate who holds the corresponding Graduate Certificate in Ministry must surrender it prior to conferral of the Diploma.
  8. Articulation
    1. On completion of the Graduate Diploma in Ministry, 60cp of undesignated credit (all Field E) will be granted towards the MMin.
    2. 40cp from courses undertaken in a completed Graduate Diploma in Ministry (all Field E) will be granted towards the MTheol.
