Course Regulations

  1. Entry requirements
    Entry requirement is one of the following:
    1. An undergraduate degree from another institution approved by the Academic Committee; or
    2. Demonstrated practical or professional experience relevant to studies in theology at a level approved by the Academic Committee.
  2. Exclusions
    Students who have completed the Bachelor of Theology or equivalent will not be permitted to enrol in the GCertTheol.
  3. Course of study
    The requirement for award of the GCertTheol is the completion of 40cp of core units as set out in the schedule below.
  4. Must achieve grade of PP
    To obtain credit for a unit, a candidate must achieve a grade of at least PP.
  5. Duration of program
    Unless the Committee of Deans determines otherwise, a candidate must pursue the program over one semester if full-time or at least 2 semesters if part-time with a maximum period for completion of 12 semesters, except where an extension is approved by the Academic Committee.
  6. Credit for other study
    No credit transfer will be allowed towards this award.
  7. Articulation
    On completion of the Graduate Certificate in Theology, credit transfer of 40cp will be granted towards the Graduate Diploma in Theology.

    C73113 10cp Introducing Theology
  2. 10cp from-
    D73011 10cp The Early Church to 500CE; or
    D73024 10cp Introduction to Church History; and
  3. 10cp from-
    H73060 10cp Introduction to Philosophy; or
    C73050 10cp Introduction to Christian Liturgy or
    D52062 10cp Anglican Liturgies or
    E52061 10cp Reformed & Evangelical Worship
