Bachelor of Theology (BTh) Regulations
The Bachelor of Theology degree is awarded in accordance with the following
rules:
- Credit Point (cp) Requirements
- To be eligible for award of the degree, students must complete 240cp
and comply with the course requirements set out in the Bachelor
of Theology Course of Study.
- Units offered in the Bachelor of Theology program all carry 10cp
value. This value indicates the minimum requirement of 3 hours contact
and 7 hours study per week expected of students. Specific requirements
for each unit are advised in the introductory semester lecture.
- Attendance at Lectures
- The standard teaching period for a unit is a semester of 13 weeks
and involves the equivalent of 39 contact hours. However, some units
may be offered on a different basis but providing equivalence to this
standard.
- Each practicum unit involves 13 hours per week for a semester. This
time requirement will include preparation, actual field experience,
report writing, personal preparation and attendance at field education
seminars.
- Attendance at all lectures is required except where a genuine reason
exists for absence. Any absence from lectures should be advised to the
lecturer.
- Absence from lectures in excess of two weeks over a semester require
formal approval. Requests for leave from lectures, or advice of reason
for absence must be made in writing to the Academic Dean of the student's
member school.
- Extension of Time for Submission of Work for Assessment

- Time Limit for Completion of the Degree
The Bachelor of Theology must be completed within an eight (8) year period.
